DESCRIPTION
Deperson: A Choice-Driven Narrative Adventure
Deperson is an immersive, narrative-driven game that blurs the line between reality and memory.
Aaron wakes up in a nation consumed by surveillance and fear, with no memory of who he is. In Indrija, obedience is survival. As reality bleeds into a surreal nightmare, he isn’t just running from a regime. He is fleeing something far worse. Truth isn’t just hidden. It’s hungry.
With a blend of psychological tension, strategic puzzles, and platformer-style challenges, Deperson offers a deeply engaging experience where every decision matters, leading to multiple endings. All while exploring a richly detailed dystopian world and unraveling the secrets hidden within.
HISTORY
The Story Behind Deperson: From Concept to Creation
In the summer of 2022, after enduring difficult work environments, the founders of Error Thing made a bold decision to leave their jobs and pursue their passion for creating games in a peaceful, creative space. What started as a simple idea, just a sketch on paper, quickly grew into Deperson, a project driven by a desire to build games that inspire and engage.
After a year of dedicated work, Deperson evolved into a full-fledged narrative game, and the team entered the development phase. Currently, the game is progressing toward a planned release in the last quarter of 2026, with ambitions to expand to consoles and mobile platforms in the future. Along the way, Error Thing is sharing their development journey with a growing community, fostering creativity and collaboration.
Based in Turkey, the development team set out to modernize classic point-and-click adventure puzzles by incorporating platformer-style challenges and unique character abilities. The game's distinct art style, atmospheric environments, and deep narrative structure have been designed to engage players on multiple levels.
Deperson has already garnered interest through its early demo and expanding fanbase, with players contributing theories, artwork, and valuable feedback that have helped shape the game. With its rich world and multi-layered storytelling, Deperson continues to grow, offering players an emotionally charged journey that’s sure to leave a lasting impact.
In May 2026, Deperson replaced its early demo with a completely new public demo, featuring Chapter 1 of the game with several hours of gameplay available for free. This new demo marked a major step forward for the project, showcasing updated visuals, expanded gameplay systems, and a much deeper introduction to Deperson’s world and story.
